Becoming a Rescue Diver is more than learning emergency skills — it’s a shift in how you dive, think, and take responsibility for yourself and others.
Our PADI Rescue Diver + Emergency First Response (EFR) course on Koh Tao trains you to prevent problems before they happen, respond calmly in stressful situations, and support other divers both underwater and at the surface.
This combined course strengthens your confidence, awareness, and leadership while building essential first aid and rescue skills — making you a safer diver and a more responsible ocean user.
From Self-Awareness to Responsibility for Others
The Rescue Diver course is designed for certified divers who want to go beyond personal skill development and learn how to look after others.
At Black Turtle Conservation, we teach rescue training as awareness, prevention, and calm decision-making — not panic or shortcuts. You’ll learn how to recognize stress early, manage emergencies effectively, and act with confidence in real-world situations.
Your training begins with Emergency First Response (EFR) — First Aid and CPR on land — before progressing into diving-specific rescue skills and realistic scenarios in the ocean.
What you’ll learn:
- Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid)
- How to assess emergency situations safely
- Self-rescue techniques and stress management
- How to assist tired or panicked divers
- Search patterns and missing diver procedures
- How to respond to unresponsive divers underwater and at the surface
- Rescue breathing, towing, and exit techniques
- Emergency oxygen and accident management
This course is ideal if you want to:
- Become a safer, more confident diver
- Learn to prevent problems before they escalate
- Support others in emergency situations
- Prepare for Divemaster or conservation leadership pathways
